my last five weeks (in crayon)!

The past five weeks were pretty intense….I have illustrated it for you:

But now, all has changed! This week, I have to demonstrate that I know how to give a physical exam. That’s it! Sure, I still have to work, and we have class on Thursday and Friday, but there are no exams this week.  Next week, we have hospital orientation, and the following week, we begin Clinicals. Pretty exciting!

Now, off I go to watch some more Law & Order (insert ominous “doink DOINK” gavel sound here)…

mmmm….tasty face crayons.

I like crayons.

Growing up, my sisters, brother and I would color. It was a creative endeavor, which I suppose was encouraged back in the day, and it allowed Mom and Dad to watch LA Law in peace. We had a coffee can of broken crayons, scrap paper and a collection of coloring books. It was fun. Do you remember the Sesame Street crayon-making segment? It was my favorite:

hit me with your best shot

I intended on starting this blog when nursing school started. That was over a month ago. So far, I have had a quiz, oral exam (known as the return demonstration), and written exam each week. I have cried in front of my instructor once, cried in front of my classmates twice and forgotten the technical name for the largest part of the quadriceps (it’s called the vastus lateralis) in my return demonstration three times.
